TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor - Anatomist
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Applicants should have broad training in human and/or vertebrate anatomy. The successful candidate will share responsibility for teaching a human anatomy course for majors, human anatomy and physiology courses for non-majors, and advanced courses in their specialty area. Expertise in areas of interest to pre-health professional students (e.g., developmental biology, histology, neurobiology, endocrinology) are desirable. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching introductory courses for biology majors and non-majors, and should exhibit potential for independent and innovative research involving Master’s and undergraduate students.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic beginning August 16, 2010, 9 months, percent of appointment 100%, continuing.

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Troy University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant/associate professor level to begin August 2010. The 16 faculty members in the Department serve the needs of 450 undergraduates and 40 graduate students. We offer undergraduate programs/majors/concentrations in ecology, environmental science, cell and molecular biology, medical technology, marine biology, and biology education.
We seek a broadly educated biologist who specializes in animal anatomy/physiology to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology (HAP) I and II. HAP I & II are required courses for most Departmental undergraduates and all pre-nursing students. The successful applicant will also teach courses in area of specialization. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the HAP I & II courses, the faculty, adjuncts, and graduate teaching assistants.
